Hey guys, I'm back, sort of. I decided yet again that I want to get back into the phpbb3 mod development. I decided to actually get my own webspace this time (sorry for bumming it up until now Zack ), and also I wanted to host my own board for friends (feel free to join as well).

Anyway, the link to the site is http://www.toddred.com. (If you want to go to the test board, although it doesn't have any mod demos on it yet: http://forum.toddred.com). Let me know what you guys think and I'll try and stay around this time (no more disappearing acts )!

Nice man. I joined up. To you guys who jumped in later, Surfer was the 'Mod Overseer' of the boards when we were running on phpBB and he pulled some crazy stuff. The reason our community did so well then was mostly due to the fun mods he had incorporated into the boards (gaining experience and gold, being able to buy items, preventing total server meltdowns, etc.).

What projects do you have in development right now?

Haha, that's the problem. I had several about two years ago, but people ended up taking them over when I disappeared, so I don't have anything concrete right now. Someone is even RPG-like game that we had on the old board, so I can't even do that O.O... But for now, I'm scouring the request forum looking for ideas

I just through up an unmodified copy of myBB to test it out and fell in love with its plugin system and low resource usage. I've heard Vanilla is pretty darn good too, but I've never tried it. Anyway, these boards just have the basic mods (Reputation, Thanks, Anti-Spam, Quick Reply), and they are all easily removed/turned-off/modified just by editing their respective mod files in the plugin section. Nothing alters the core base. I think there's an RPG type addon being developed for it but I haven't tried to integrate it with these forums.

Is this the myBB templates? And do you know much about the code behind it (difficult to figure out or are there a lot of comments)?

I've only briefly tinkered with the plugin code and it all seemed pretty straightforward, but I never looked at the core code, so I'm not sure how well it is commented.
